[互換性] タブの挙動

「@IT」の「Windows Server Insider」に、「Windows XP → 7移行のアプリケーション・トラブル解決法」が載りました。この記事と関連するネタをひとつ。

以前からある機能ですが、Windows 7 でも、プログラム、あるいはプログラムのショートカットでプロパティ画面を使って、「互換性」の設定ができます。リストボックスから、互換性を持たせたい過去のバージョンの Windows を選択するというやつです。

じゃあ、これが実際に何をやってるんだろうということで、OS に対して返してくるバージョン番号を調べるプログラムを書いてみました。そして、プロパティ画面で互換モードの選択肢を変えながら実行した結果がこれ。

この結果から見る限り、単にバージョン番号を変えているわけではなくて、いろいろ細工をやっているようです。うーん謎だ。
